What did you learn about yourself during your teacher training?
The most valuable lesson I learned during my time here in Bali is that which I was seeking, I already was…. I had within me all this time all that I searched externally for, never trusting or quite believing in myself enough to truly look within for the answers. Now I know we are all already complete.
What is Yoga to you?
Yoga to me is life. Yoga is my breath, my body, my movements and the shapes I create. Yoga is love, it is light, it is passion, it is being able to acknowledge the parts of us we would prefer to push away or hide, and being Comfortable enough within ourselves to sit with those moments and feelings, knowing that that isn’t really us or who we are, it is just an emotion rippling through on its own journey. To sit with these Moments and connect deeply to our true authentic self, expressing this always, connecting to our true individual power.
What have you learned from Sufey?
There are not enough words to describe how much love and admiration I have for this one single human being… I have learned that it’s ok to be me! After that everything else just falls into place.
What inspires you?
People, animals, the earth, the sky, the ocean, the moon, sound, light, music, art, self expression, unconditional love, conscious connections, others’ stories, my own life story, the ability to rise after so much pain, how we really can keep going. Being connected within and expressing ourselves, however that resonates with us. Freedom to be who we really are.
What are you excited to bring home?
The brightest lightest version of myself, inspiration and power. A vibrant soul filled approach to vinyasa yoga classes and the ability to just simply hold space for those who wish to be held. ❤
REBECCA WILSON has been practicing asana yoga for 4 years, finding a spiritual path recently and learning about many aspects and styles of yoga. Her personal practice is inspired by Vinyasa Flow, Jivamukti, Ashtanga, Pranayama (breathwork), Kundalini, Kirtan and Bhakti yoga. Travelling a beautiful life altering journey of self discovery, growth, pain, uncertainty, expansion and personal development, she found the essence of her true authentic self within. This lead her to travel to Bali in March 2016 for her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. Soaking up local culture and tradition, finding creativity and inspiration within her surroundings, and also her teacher Sufey Chen and members of her course continue to inspire her today. Through many tough challenges and constant questions, Rebecca is able to incorporate this into her classes and into the person she is today. Rebecca aims to offer an interpersonal space for students to self explore, self express, let go, and learn how to move their body in the ways that resonate with each individual, opening hearts and connections to the divine light within oneself.
