Brazil Nut Mylk
Sweet, creamy, and full of goodness, this Brazil nut mylk is out-is-this-world. I was craving a comfort drink this morning, something nourishing and cozy to sip on slow. While I generally prefer lighter broths and tonics, this was the perfect once-in-awhile treat for a cozy autumn day. This cancer-fighting, hormone-regulating superfood (re: Brazil nuts) is also touted as a fabulous fertility booster, so gift an extra jar to your baby-making friends!
Notes: I added an extra slice of ginger, nature’s favorite energy-booster, just to spice it up a notch. I also found this recipe to boost my own milk production! Try it out and let me know what your experience is.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup raw organic Brazil nuts, soaked
3 cups filtered water
4-6 dates
1 inch ginger
STEPS
1- Soak the Brazil nuts in filtered water and a dash of apple cider vinegar. Leave overnight, or up to 8 hours.
2- Blend soaked Brazil nuts, dates, ginger, and 3 cups of (fresh) filtered water in Vitamix (or other blender of choice).
3- Strain nut milk through cheesecloth (optional), if you prefer a smooth, less pulpy texture.
4- Warm the milk gently on the stove and enjoy!
